A young woman helps her 97-year-old great-grandmother rediscover the joy of dressing up.

Talena took her 97-year-old great-grandmother on a special shopping trip when the latter told her she didn’t feel pretty anymore.

Talena wanted to help her grandma feel beautiful again.

The video montage shows Talena, her mom, and Grandma Terri trying on different dresses and having a blast together. The gorgeous smile on Terri’s face as she looks at herself in the mirror is a sight to behold!

This girls’ day out really lifted Terri’s spirits. She was beaming with joy as she carried her shopping bag full of beautiful dresses.

“You’ve got to treasure every moment you can with the family because we never know what’s around the corner and what could happen next,” said Terri Waddell.

The “Buy Nothing” movement is bringing people together.

In recent years, ‘Buy Nothing’ groups have been gaining massive popularity around the world.

The Buy Nothing movement is all about avoiding needless purchases by sharing and borrowing items and building connections within your local community.

Instead of buying new items, participants can get them for free and offer items they no longer need. This allows community members to look out for each other while also contributing to the greater good.

“This is mutual aid. We are taking care of each other by sharing the things that we might not no longer need, but it will make a world of difference to a nearby family,” Liesl Clark, co-founder of the Buy Nothing Project.

Little girl brings treats to show support for law enforcement

This four-year-old has a heart of gold!

To show gratitude to the police officers who helped her mom, Brinleigh Davison came up with the idea of taking treats to the police department. So Brinleigh, along with her grandmother Amy Honse delivered two cases of water, five boxes of powdered drink mix, and cookies at the Findlay PD.

Brinleigh wants to turn this act of kindness into a tradition. She aims to continue giving treats to members of the other law enforcement agencies in her community.

“She knows that the cops helped protect her mommy from it and protected her, and she wanted to do something nice for the community,” said Amy Honse.

This nonprofit is on a mission to support canners in the local community.

A New York City nonprofit called Sure We Can redeems a whopping one million cans and bottles each month!

It works towards supporting people who make a living collecting bottles and cans. The organization is advocating for an increase in the beverage container deposit in New York State.

Apart from the reduction of litter in public spaces, this raise will support the independent recyclers who rely on canning to earn a living.

“We’re talking about the American Dream kind of here, like people coming here and finding ways to participate, ways to work that benefit us all,” said Ryan Castalia, Executive Director, of Sure We Can.
