Reebok’s New Fitness App Wants You to Have Fun With Your Workouts. Here’s What It Has to Offer

Reebok has officially entered the race for digital fitness supremacy.

The athletic footwear and clothing company announced Wednesday that it’s launching a new subscription app, Reebok Fitness. Users will be able to access workouts with trainers, record runs and walks with a GPS tracker, find nutrition and wellness tips— including guided meditations—participate in challenges, and talk with other users in the community. And of course, there will also be deals on Reebok gear and ways to shop within the app.

If you’re thinking, “Wait, another new fitness and wellness app?” we feel you. Nike Training Club and Nike Run Club, Alo Moves, Lululemon Studio, and Adidas Running, are just some of the notable athletic footwear and apparel brands that have companion lifestyle and workout apps. There are also the Pelotons of the world that started as digital fitness brands, but then expanded into selling gear (including a fitness content and merchandise partnership with Lululemon). And don’t forget the fact that it seems like every gym, Pilates studio, and popular trainer these days has their own app or digital platform.

“Research consistently demonstrates that people who have fun with their workouts and feel part of a community are more motivated to stick with their fitness routines.” Richard Sale, CEO of Reebok Fitness app

You can thank the pandemic for the initial digital fitness boom, which is now not so much a trend as the norm. Plus, other brands have shown that getting in on the digital fitness landscape is a great way to build brand loyalty if you’re in the business of selling sneakers and athletic wear. So, yeah, if you make exercise gear, it makes sense to have a wellness app these days, even if it does put you in direct competition with Nike.

So what makes Reebok different? In Reebok Fitness, you’ll find fitness and wellness classes, tracking, nutrition and lifestyle info, leaderboards, challenges, and forums that appear in most other apps—though not every app has all of the above in the same place. Reebok stresses that a sense of fun, community, and its wholistic approach is what makes it stand out.

“Research consistently demonstrates that people who have fun with their workouts and feel part of a community are more motivated to stick with their fitness routines,” Richard Sale, CEO of the Reebok Fitness app, said in an email. “To support this, Reebok Fitness app offers a dynamic platform that encourages active living through engaging group challenges and interactive community leaderboards. Our platform also provides a wealth of nutrition and wellness resources, ensuring a holistic approach to health.”

A subscription to the Reebok Fitness app will cost $99.99 per year (and you get a seven-day free trial). If you’re a Reebok customer, you can receive 40 percent off the app—just log into your account and purchase the app through the Reebok site where you’ll then receive a code for the discount.

The app is available for purchase for everyone through Reebok.com.
