This tiny home community is a haven for women seeking financial independence and companionship.
The Bird’s Nest is a community of 11 tiny homes located just outside Dallas, Texas.
It’s home to women from across the country who are at or near retirement.
The community thrives on mutual support and a shared commitment to looking out for one another. The women share meals, help with maintenance, and support each other through life’s challenges.
This allows them to live comfortably on a modest income as they transition into retirement.
“We laugh all the time, until our faces hurt. That’s how it’s supposed to be, when you’re connected,” said Cheryl Huff, a resident.
Students surprise their beloved principal with a wedding ceremony at school.
Brianna Lanoye is the principal of the Buffalo Academy of Science in New York. It had been her dream to have all of her students be part of her wedding, but that wasn’t logistically possible.
But just a few days before her actual wedding, the students and staff came together to surprise her with a wedding ceremony in the school courtyard.
Brianna and her fiancé, Zach Klapp, exchanged vows and candy Ring Pops in front of more than 400 students and staff.
She was deeply touched by her students’ thoughtful gesture. Their surprise perfectly captured the love and spirit of the school community!
“I love my students more than anything. And I just hope that our students feel as loved as I felt in that moment,” said Brianna.
Students’ kindness campaign creates big ripples in community.
Students at Broadway Elementary in Grand Junction, Colorado, are on a mission to create ripples of kindness throughout their community.
It all began with a campaign called Raise Craze, designed to thank the donors who contributed to the school’s annual fundraising drive. As part of the campaign, students performed random acts of kindness to show their gratitude.
As they experienced the joy of performing acts of kindness, they were inspired to keep the kindness going.
They’ve now carried out more than 2,000 acts of kindness!
From putting together wellness baskets for people in hospitals and retirement homes, to joining river cleanups, to volunteering at the community food bank, these students are making a real difference in their community.
“It’s acts of kindness and spreading positivity and recognizing that the things that we do right now will impact those around us. That’s something within our control, and that’s what we can focus on, that’s what we can bring home to our families,” said Britni Westbrook, principal of Broadway Elementary.
