Mantras are phrases frequently used in meditation to help anchor you or give you a focal point to concentrate on.

Similar to affirmations, they can be ultra-powerful, guiding you through tough and turbulent times and helping you land on both feet. 

With any mantra, you want it to resonate with you. It needs to have meaning for you. This is important to note since many of us won’t have the same mantra as one another. At the same time, some proven mantra frequencies are shown to help inherently calm us.

How Do I Choose a Daily Mantra?

As previously mentioned, it’s important to choose a mantra that resonates within you.

When in doubt, the more simple the mantra, the better. And it’s okay if it takes a few tries to really get it right. 

For example, if you begin your meditation with one mantra but it doesn’t feel right, try switching it out or simplifying it. There are no hard rules here! And don’t forget to chant your mantra out loud or in your head as you meditate.

 

 

How to Use a Mantra

Ideally, you want to find a quiet space where you can perform a meditation session without distraction.

Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes.

You may also want to set a timer for your meditation session.

We recommend starting with two minutes if you’re new to this practice. 

The key throughout your session is to focus on your mantra phrase. To do this, you’ll want to chant the phrase, putting all your attention into it. You can do this out loud or repeat it in your head (Do what feels right for you).

Once your timer goes off, you should feel more calm and at ease or whatever your aim was. This is a sign it worked!
