Exercises for a Slap Tear

Exercises for a Slap Tear can help without having medical surgery. No doubt, a slap tear is quite painful as it dislocates your shoulder joint. Slap tear makes it difficult for you to perform small actions of daily life. It gets quite painful for you even to lift your arm.

Though surgery is an effective solution to slap tear, it would take six to eight months for proper recovery. Moreover, surgery would also make your shoulder stiff for more extended periods.

Exercises for slap tear shoulder

To heal from slap tear in a shorter time, physiotherapists recommend some exercises which should be performed daily. Generally, these exercises are pretty simple and require little effort. The primary purpose of these exercises is to keep your shoulder in continuous motion. The more the shoulder moves, the more you would feel better. Let’s discuss some of these exercises in detail.

Lifting lightweights

The first exercise is about lifting some very light weights. You may lift weights ranging from 1lb to 2.5 lbs. To perform this exercise, you have to lie down straight. You have to lift up your arm upwards in a vertical position. Your elbow should be in alignment with the shoulder. This upward lifting would create pressure on your shoulder. This is the pressure that would result in proper movement of the shoulder.

Then you have to move your arm slowly in a backward position. At the point where you feel deep pain, just stop there. Do not force your arm to continue the movement despite that pain. Instead, at that point, you have to move your arm in a bit of circular motion to overcome that pain.

After that, as soon as you feel comfortable, continue that backward movement of your arm in slow motion. Then move your arm slowly to its original position. Moving your arm in the same pattern would give you much comfort. Some people say this exercise is just like magic for them.

Moving with tied band

The second exercise is for making the shoulder more stable. The greater the stability of the shoulder is, the healthier it would be. So for this purpose, you have to arrange a band tied with a belt at the other end. After that, set your position. Your elbow should be towards the inner side. Also, your wrist, elbow, and shoulder should be in proper alignment. By holding the band in your hand, you have to take small steps. So at first, just move two steps in your right direction. You may feel deep pain during this motion. But you just have to fight this pain with your willpower.

After that, gradually increase the number of steps in the same direction. You can cover ten steps maximum to overcome this pain. Many gyms have such pulleys hanging across, but they do not give proper guidelines to users. People just start moving the bad quickly in any direction they want to. Such acts play a significant role in further worsening the situation.

Applying pressure to shoulders by ball

The last exercise is usually people’s favorite exercise. You just need one tennis ball. The important thing is to locate this ball properly. Usually, the ball is placed down the shoulder plates. There is a person standing behind who puts on a slight pressure on the ball. This is how the extent of pressure, which a person can bear through their shoulders, is measured. Then the person with slap tear is supposed to look back at the ball by slightly moving his neck and shoulder muscles. This exercise is like a modified form of massage, as you feel much more relaxed.
